Improve trimming accuracy and loading speed for bent tubes used in mass production of office chairs.

Designed a fixture that securely positions two tubes at different heights and trims both in a single pass without manual holding (pic.3, 4, 5)

Two tubes are processed per cycle with improved repeatability, reducing the trimming operation time by 16 seconds per cycle and eliminating the need for operators to hold the parts by hand, which reduced hand injuries during the operation

Design a jig for cutting an elliptical profile in a 1 mm wall chair armrest tube for production runs exceeding 10,000 parts, without modifying the existing machine and with minimal setup time

A dedicated fixture with a folding section and spring-loaded locking mechanism was designed to machine both sides of the armrest without removing or repositioning the jig. After cutting one side, the fixture section is raised and locked to continue machining the opposite side

The jig reduced changeover time between the two cutting sides by 8 seconds per part and allowed both operations to be performed on a single machine instead of two

Design one drilling jig for five different pipe configurations without lengthy machine retooling

Designed an adjustable fixture using folding stops, integrated clamps, and simple standardized components that could be manufactured without complex tooling

One jig accommodates all five configurations of 15×15×1 mm square tubing after the bending operation, eliminating the need for separate fixtures and reducing changeover between part variants
